Hypnobirthing with Susan

Hi, I’m Susan. I’m so excited you’re here!

It’s been my dream for several years to provide a nurturing space for pregnancy, new parents and birth workers and now that dream is coming true. I am passionate about hypnobirthing, self care and nurturing you in pregnancy and new parenthood. I can’t wait to meet you and help you discover a new way to look at birth.

I am a Mum ...

Firstly let me tell you a little bit about me. Family is SO important to me! My biggest achievement in life has been becoming a mum to three amazing humans. There is nothing like it! They are all grown up now, but they’re still my pride and joy, and as I often tell them much to their embarrassment, they will always be my babies!!
Along with my three children, my biggest cheer-leader is my amazing husband who has been my rock and supporter throughout my career. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today without his support.

...I am a Midwife

My career in midwifery has been wide and varied working in hospital and community settings in a number of NHS Trusts throughout Scotland and England.
The fact I am still a working midwife after 30 plus years will hopefully tell you how much I love pregnancy, birth and new parenthood and throughout my career I have supported hundreds of women through this journey towards becoming a mother.

...I am a natural nurturer

I believe in taking your hand and guiding you to find your own best way to birth and parent, not following any set formula, but giving you the tools and support to come to your own best version of “you” in birth and new parenthood.

I just love connecting with people, learning about them and from them. Everyone has their own unique story and I am fascinated with what makes people tick.

...I am passionate about Self-care

Throughout life we experience highs and lows, life can be a roller coaster for sure!

Through my own ups and downs I began to realise how important it was to look after my own wellbeing first and foremost, whether as a mum, a midwife, a hypnobirthing instructor or in any of my other roles. I discovered that if I didn’t fill my own cup first I couldn’t effectively care for others. As the saying goes, you can’t pour from an empty cup. This realisation has affected all areas of my life and is at the heart of my work as a hypnobirthing instructor and self care coach.
